Treadmill-Only HYROX Workout
Eight 1km-equivalent efforts compressed onto a treadmill, with the belt holding the pace so you cannot cheat the back half. It is the simplest way to rehearse HYROX run splits when you have 30 minutes and one machine.
Treadmill Hill Repeats for HYROX
Incline work on a belt gives you a hill that never ends and never flattens, and it loads the same calf and glute pattern as the sled push. Ten repeats at 6 to 8% builds leg strength without adding another day under a barbell.
Stations: Sled push
Treadmill HYROX Compromised Run Intervals
The compromised run, rehearsed indoors: a fixed-pace treadmill kilometre, straight into a station movement beside the machine, six times over. It trains the exact transition from a running heart rate to a squatting heart rate that decides a HYROX result.
Stations: Wall balls · Burpee broad jumps · Sandbag lunges
Treadmill HYROX Race Pace Simulation
Eight kilometres at your goal HYROX run pace, broken by station work, with the belt enforcing the pace from start to finish. If you can complete this, your goal pace is real. If you cannot, you now know it before race day instead of after.
Stations: Wall balls · Farmers carry · Burpee broad jumps · Sandbag lunges
About this category
The treadmill’s real advantage is that it will not let you slow down. For HYROX specifically that matters, because the skill the race tests is holding a pace after a station has wrecked your heart rate, and a belt enforces that pace in a way a road never will.
Set one per cent incline for every session in this category. A flat belt flatters your pace by roughly ten to fifteen seconds per kilometre at race speeds, which is enough to set a goal pace you cannot actually hold on race day. If you race indoors on a hard floor, treadmill running is also closer to race conditions than a soft trail.
The compromised-run sessions here put the station work directly beside the machine on purpose. A thirty-second walk to a rig lets your heart rate recover and changes the physiology you are trying to train. Keep the dumbbells or the wall ball within two steps of the belt.
