Treadmill HYROX Race Pace Simulation, a treadmill HYROX workout

Treadmill HYROX Race Pace Simulation

Eight kilometres at your goal HYROX run pace, broken by station work, with the belt enforcing the pace from start to finish. If you can complete this, your goal pace is real. If you cannot, you now know it before race day instead of after.

Coaching notes

  • If you have to drop the pace before round 6, your goal time is roughly 4 to 6 minutes optimistic. Adjust the goal, not the effort.
  • Run this once, six weeks out. It is a test, not a weekly session, and it takes three days to recover from properly.
  • Fuel it like a race: same breakfast, same drink, same timing. You are rehearsing the whole morning, not just the running.

Questions people ask

How do I scale this?
Sets, reps and rest are written for a advanced athlete. Scale the load first and the rest second. If the movement falls apart, drop the weight before you add rest.
Where does this fit in a plan?
One session is a session. Sequence it into a week built around your race date and your weakest station on the training plan, or let the generator write one in the same format around your kit and time.
